It’s XMAS time, which means that it’s time to go on window shopping in Paris, girls! With all of the delectable delights in the stunning windows around Paris streets, it’s easy to understand why the French say that they’re going to do a bit of lèche-vitrine, or “window licking”! Yummy :)

So as a glamourous fashionista like me would do, last weekend I was checking the charming windows of Printemps! This is one of the Parisian “temples of shopping” and, after years of boring&poor window displays alongside the stunning presentation of the close Galeries Lafayette, the game switched this year.  Actually, Printemps has outdone themselves with Noël Rêves d’Évasion, their 2011 holiday promotion!

At the beginning of December, Chanel fashion director Karl Lagerfeld and Vanessa Paradis -  actress, singer, face of “Coco” Chanel fragrance… and, last but not least, Johnny Depp’s wife! – thrilled thousands of bystanders, just waiting for the grand reveal at the Inauguration des Vitrines. Printemps’ elegant windows on the boulevard Haussmann pay homage to Karl Lagerfeld in the Paparazzi-style, that I love! This is the video of the event ;)

Eleven storefront windows display 60 animated puppets: they are super-cute miniature Lagerfelds as photographer, designer and director surrounded by dancing ballerinas and flight attendants made in rue Cambon workshops… Oh, sooooo lovely! 

The dolls are dressed in classic designs from famous Chanel collections of the past, that present an understated elegance that out rocks any live concert vying for the window crowds…They definetely rock Parisian streets! :)
